Determined to make it to the top, Eva attaches herself to a popular tango singer (Jimmy Nail) in the big city, Eva becomes a radio and film actress, moving in influential circles within Buenos Aires society.
But when she becomes involved with rising politician, Juan Peron (Jonathan Pryce), the establishment disapprove and he is arrested. Eva fights on for freedom, both for her husband and the oppressed masses. Peron is freed by the people, the couple marry and Peron in elected president. But Eva’s greatest battle is yet to come.

Determinada en llegar a la cima, Eva se une a un popular cantante de tango (Jimmy Nail) en la gran ciudad. Eva llega a ser actriz de radio y televisión, moviendose en circulos influyentes de la sociedad de Buenos Aires.
Pero cuando se ve involucrada en el creciente politico, Juan Peron (Jonathan Pryce), el sistema desaprueba y el es arrestado. Eva lucha por la libertad, y junto con su marido y las masas opresoras. Peron es liberado por la gente, la pareja se casa y Peron es elegido presidente. Pero la gran batalla de Eva esta todavía por llegar.
