Rosita, is a girl from the south of Spain nickname as Malvaloca, she lives in the poverty and is seduced by Santiago, a young gentleman that abandons her after two years. Leonardo, a forgueman from the north of Spain, honest and reliable, meets and falls in love with her. He plans to repair a bell called ‘the Swallow’, for its graceful and softness sound, at the convent of the Canteras.
Malvaloca and Leonardo live together and he is rejecting anyone who do not accept the fact that he has fallen in love with Malvaloca. While he is repairing the belt, he also melts Malvaloca’s soul, changing her into a new woman, such ‘the Swallow’, with love and feelings.
Rosita, una moza malagueña apodada Malvaloca, vive casi en la indigencia y es seducida por Santiago, un señorito que la abandona dos años después. Leonardo, un fundidor asturiano, honrado y serio, la conoce y se enamora de ella. El se dispone a arreglar la campana del convento de las Canteras, a la que llaman “la Golondrina”, por su gracil volteo y la dulzura con la que repica.
Malvaloca y Leonardo viven juntos, y éste, rechazando a cuantos afean su conducta por haberse enamorado de una mala mujer, al tiempo que funde la campana también funde el alma de Malvaloca, transformándola en una nueva mujer, como la “Golondrina”, con las más puras notas de amor y sentimiento.
