This is the story of two dreams. The dream of Marem a 14-year-old Seneglese dancer is to emigrate to Europe while Sonia, a Spanish dancer attracted by the magic of Africa, dreams of going there. Both of them are united by Pap Ndiaye, Marem’s father and SoniaŽs husband. Africa is nothing like Sonia dreamt it would be, Pap Ndiaye has two more wives. Nor is Europe like Marem’s dream, there are no children in the streets and there is also poverty. Princess from Africa is a beautiful story of love, music and dance where things are not as they seem and woman take centre stage.
Es la historia de dos sueños. El de Marem, una niña bailarina senegalesa de catorce años, de emigrar a Europa, y el de Sonia, una bailarina española atraída por la magia de África. A las dos las une Pap Ndiaye, padre de Marem y marido de Sonia. Ni África es como Sonia soñaba, Pap Ndiaye tiene dos mujeres más. Ni Europa es como Marem soñaba, no hay niños en las calles y también hay pobreza. Princesa de África es una bella historia de amor, de música y de danza, donde las cosas no son como parecen y las mujeres son las protagonistas.
