In the summer of ’94 a team of television reporters filmed and interviewed seven Cubans and their families in the days before they set off on a risky adventure to cross the sea and reach the coast of the United States, fleeing from the economic difficulties ravaging the island.
Some time later those of them who had been rescued on the high sea were found in the refugee camp at the North American base of Guantánamo. Their families remained in Cuba without news of any of them except for one woman who had been wrecked and been forced to return to the island.
Seven years have gone by, the development of the people, their fate, their lives in the United States or in Cuba is portrayed in detail and with sensitivity. The adventures of shipwreck survivors between two worlds.
En el verano de 1994 un equipo de reporteros de televisión filmó y entrevistó a siete cubanos y sus familias durante los días previos a su arriesgada aventura al lanzarse al mar para alcanzar la costa de los Estados Unidos, huyendo de las dificultades económicas que asolaban su país.
Algún tiempo después pudieron localizar en el campamento de refugiados de Guantánamo a los que habían sido rescatados en alta mar. Han pasado siete años, la evolución de los personajes, sus destinos, su vida en los Estados Unidos o su permanencia en Cuba es retratada con detalle y sensibilidad.
