How to use this blog

blogThis blog contains all the titles of the DVDs and the videos that you can find in our catalogue.

If you are looking for a film, you can browse it by using the different categories.

The films are classified by director, year of production, nationality, etc. You can also check which videos or DVDs have subtitles in different languages and which ones are suitable for different ages. Furthermore, you can find a list of the films recommended by the librarian, the teachers and by the users of this library themselves.

Your search can also be done by inserting a keyword in the search box. The word used has to be written correctly in Spanish (with accents should the word have them). The results obtained will not only include the titles with the typed keyword but also the films that contain this word in the synopsis of their plot.

The order in which the films appear in this blog is by the date of production or the date in which the film was released in cinemas. The lastest productions therefore will appear first and the older ones last.

The information your film search will provide will include:

- An image of its DVD or video cover which is linked with www.filmaffinity.com. On filmaffinity.com, you can verify the rating that viewers have given the film.

- The synopsis or summary of the film’s plot in English and in Spanish.

- The symbol  . By clicking on it, you will be taken to where the film is registered in our catalogue; here you can verify if the film is available at the moment or not. If it is borrowed, you can book it online – just login with your membership number and your password.

- The listing of categories to which the film belongs.

Please remember that this blog is prepared primarily by volunteers and students who do work experience in our library. We would be very grateful if you could let us know of any mistakes you may find when using it.

The information we provide is taken from the information on the inside cover of the video or DVD, and from the films’ database of the Ministry of Culture of Spain.

Should you have any doubts or suggestions, please contact the librarian (biblon(at)cervantes.es) or leave your comments.
