Frágil

Venus is 25, sweet, romantic and not very attractive. She lives with her stoic father in a remote Northern valley. Both work in the fields and produce honey. They have always had a good relationship, but it is completely devoid of even the slightest sign of affection.

When she was 9, a boy gave Venus her first and only kiss. The two of them swore their eternal love. Ever since, day after day, she has been waiting for his return.

One morning, she finds her father dead. Venus leaves home and sets out in search of her lost love. Not far from there, David, a young, magnetic and arrogant actor, waits for filming to start on a Hollywood superproduction,¨Dark Tale¨ in which he will be the star.

Soon David and Venus will meet, and she will feel that her search has finally ended… although the real world is not exactly like the fairytales she read as a child.

Venus tiene 25 años, es dulce, romántica y no muy atractiva. Ella vive con su estoico padre en un aislado valle del Norte. Ambos trabajan en las tareas del campo y fabrican miel de flores. Su relación siempre ha sido cordial pero absolutamente carente de cualquier muestra de cariño.

Cuando tenía 9 años, un niño dio a Venus su primer y unico beso, y los dos se juraron amor eterno. Desde ese momento, día tras día, ella espera en vano su regreso.

Pero una mañana el padre aparece muerto y Venus abandona por fin su hogar y sale en busca del amor perdido y de sus sueños. No muy lejos de allí, David, un actor joven, magnético y arrogante, aguarda el comienzo del rodaje de la superproducción de Hollywood de la que será protagonista, “Dark Tale”.

Pero la idea de empezar a ser deseado y querido por millones le tortura… porque le gusta más de lo que él quisiera. Pronto David y Venus se encontrarán y ella sentirá al fin que su búsqueda ha terminado… aunque el mundo real no es exactamente igual que los cuentos que ella leía de niña.

Madre Muerta (Dead Mother)

A provocative, gothic psycho-thriller, Madre Muerta is an immensely atmospheric film which focusses on a bizarre love triangle. Viscious thief Ismael (Karra Elejalde) cold bloodedly murders the woman he´s burgling, then realises that her young daughter, Leire (Ana Alvarez), has been a silent witness to his crime.

Years later, Leire, now a beautiful, but mentally disturbed, young woman, accidentally re-appears in his life. Terrified that she will disclose the truth, he kidnaps her and holds her prisoner in the derelict squat that he shares with his jealous girlfriend, Maite (Lio).

Disturbingly, Ismael finds himself obsessively attracted to her, much to the annoyance of Maite, and as his passion for Leire mounts, he is overwhelmed by feelings of guilt. As events spiral out of control, this complex love triangle degenerates toward a twisted and violent conclusion.

A tough and uncompromising film, Madre Muerta weaves dark humour into a corkscrew plot which is powerfully acted by a superb cast. Only the second film by exciting young talent, Juanma Bajo Ulloa, his controlled direction has brought Madre Muerta a host of awards from around the world.

Durante un robo nocturno, el asesino Ismael, mata a la dueña de la casa. Antes de abandonar el lugar, tropieza con la pequeña hija de la vícitma, que le clava en él su mirada. Varios años después ambos vuelven a encontrarse: ella convertida en la más bella muere, él en la más despiadada bestia.

Ismael (Karra Elejalde) ha cometido varios asesinatos, pero sólo las consecuencias de uno de ellos continúa obsesionándole. La hija de una de sus víctimas (Ana Álvarez), niña de corta edad que presenció el crimen, quedó tan impresionada que no ha vuelto a recobrar la razón. Veinte años más tarde, Ismael la secuestra para determinar si ella lo reconoce o no como el asesino de su madre.

Alas de mariposa

Ami (Laura Vaquero), is a particulary sensitive six year old girl. Her motherr, Carmen, (Silvia Munt) is obsessed with the idea of giving her husband Gabriel (Fernando Valverde) a son.

When, at last, Carmen becomes pregnant, her relationship with her daughter starts to deterriorate day by day until she gives birth to a boy. From that moment, it becomes more and more like a bad dream.
