Based on a true story, Amantes tells the story of a young man who, after completing his military service in Post-war Madrid, takes up the room of a widow.
He is then torn between his two loves: his fiancée whom he loves dearly, and his lover, the woman who has given him shelter and let him into her home.
Basada en un hecho real, cuenta la historia de un muchacho de provincias quien, tras hacer el servicio militar en Madrid durante la posguerra, se instala de realquilado en casa de una mujer.
A partir de ese momento se debate entre dos amores: el de su novia, que le da afecto, y el de su amante, la mujer que le da cobijo y cama.

This is a great film with shocking story and drama at hand. But where can one find this film on DVD or to buy? I’ve been searching for years. This is clearly one of the best foreign films I’ve seen.
